Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Olean, NY is looking for a Restaurant Manager, who is dedicated, ambitious and seeks opportunities to grow their career. At Perkins, Restaurant Managers are knowledgeable, friendly and have a passion for maintaining the restaurant while providing guests with industry-leading service. Restaurant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the achievement of plan sales and profit levels while ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Manages entire operation of restaurant during scheduled shifts in the absence of the General Manager, including daily decision making, staff support, guest interaction, labor management, upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Ensures ongoing coaching and training of subordinate staff regarding operational and procedural issues. Ensures all employees adhere to the Company's uniform standards
  • Performs employee checkouts throughout shift. Verifies completion of side work before allowing employees to check out for the day.
  • Ensures that proper cash handling procedures are followed. Balances End of Day report with cash on hand when closing. Prepares cash drawers and performs cash drop at end of shift as required. Approves all comps and promos on shift.
  • Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. Communicates in a timely manner, any such breakdowns or deficiencies and the resulting remedy to General Manager in his/her absence.
  • In the absence of the General Manager conducts informal employee counseling. Communicates any incidents to the General Manager when may require more formal discipline. Documents such incidents.
  • Under the guidance of the General Manager, ensures proper maintenance of restaurant assets through safety and security measures, preventative maintenance, repair coordination, energy conservation, and adherence to sanitation requirements.
  • As directed by the General Manager ensures appropriate product inventory levels, including non-food items, are maintained in accordance with company guidelines and standards through effective usage and yield applications, waste management and correct ordering procedures.
  • Ensures accurate financial data to include: payroll, cash and receipts, productivity, food costs and operating expenses.
  • Attends store and area management meetings, makes presentations as requested.
  • Performs all functions of all positions within the restaurant for which the employee is qualified as required by business need.

Requirements

Knowledge / Skill:

  • Strong supervisor, written and oral communication, and guest service skills are required.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining required standards of daily restaurant operation.
  • Basic problem-solving and computer skills required.

Education / Experience:

  • Coursework related to the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year previous restaurant or retail management experience is preferred.
  • Some previous management experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Excessive standing and walking without breaks
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold
  • Bending, reaching, and flexibility in confined areas
  • Lifting/Carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
